Ina  recent interview with People Magazine, President Obama made a couple interesting admissions.

The first isn’t going to be news to anyone who’s been paying attention: According to the Associated Press, Obama told People he hasn’t succeeded in bringing the country together. Well, yeah. That’s sort of obvious. But it is different to see a president acknowledging any sort of failure, as Obama’s predecessor was famously reluctant to do that.

The second was a bigger deal, an admission of the problem the president’s starting to have with his base. “That’s what’s been lost this year … that whole sense of changing how Washington works,” Obama said.
