A talk with Joseph Stiglitz

Self-promotion alert: HTWW abandons blogging cave to moderate a conversation with the Nobel laureate

A brief self-promotion note. I am moderating an hour-long conversation with Nobel laureate Joseph Stiglitz tonight at San Francisco's Commonwealth Club. I'm sure we'll have loads of fun discussing the many ways in which free market fundamentalism is bonkers.

The event is sold out and there won't be any live-streaming, but eventually it will find its way to public radio. It's currently scheduled for broadcast here in the San Francisco Bay Area on March 12 on KQED, 88.5fm at 8pm, and should pop up elsewhere in the week following. I'll post more information when we get closer to the date.

Just for fun, here is a link to a Q and A that a young reporter for Salon named Damien Cave (now regularly appearing on the front pages of The New York Times) conducted with Stiglitz in 2002. It holds up remarkably well.
