Fox News does Sarah Palin a big favor

Network might as well draw halo over former Alaska governor's head

For the most part, the mood on Fox News Sunday night, as the House neared its vote on healthcare reform, was somber. But there were a few lighter moments, even some humorous ones -- like Bill O'Reilly's interview with former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.

The substance of the interview wasn't the interesting part about it -- no, pretty much everything the two said could have been predicted. But it was amusing to see the backdrop behind Palin. It took the network's deification of the former Alaska governor so far that it was almost self-parody. There she was, outside in snowy Alaska -- you could see the wind in her hair -- with a couple snow-capped mountains framing her. The only thing that would have made the scene more perfect was a snowmobile behind her -- and then one drove through the shot. It all made for a much better backdrop than, say, turkeys being slaughtered.

Video's below; Palin comes in at about 1:50.
