Police say an unidentified Palestinian man was shot dead after he struck two Israeli police officers in east Jerusalem.
They say the motorist continued to drive after hitting the officers, then got out of his car and started to flee before other officers on the scene shot him.
Police say the Palestinian man died of his wounds and the officers were slightly injured.
Tensions in east Jerusalem are high and sometimes turn violent over conflicting Israeli and Palestinian claims to that sector of the holy city.
