President Barack Obama has signed legislation to keep the government operating for the next two months.

The White House says Obama signed the bill Thursday. It will fund the government at existing levels through Friday, Dec. 3.

Passing the bill was one of the final acts of the Democratic-controlled Congress before lawmakers adjourned early Thursday to concentrate on campaigning for the Nov. 2 midterm elections.
