President Barack Obama has spoken with the husband of wounded Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and expressed his "deep concern and full support."

White House spokesman Nick Shapiro says the president spoke with astronaut Mark Kelly on Saturday, after a gunman fired on Giffords and a crowd in Tucson, Ariz.

Kelly has piloted space shuttles Endeavour and Discovery.
