NAIROBI, Kenya (AP) — A nurse in Somalia says a Doctors Without Borders worker wounded in a gunfire attack has died.

Nurse Abdiaziz Haji said Friday that the man died despite numerous blood transfusions. The aid worker was shot and wounded Thursday by a disgruntled former employee.

Another Doctors Without Border employee — a Frenchman — died Thursday.

Elsewhere, Kenya's military spokesman said Friday that five fighters from the militant group al-Shabab and one Kenyan soldier died in a clash. Kenyan forces moved into southern Somalia in mid-October to attack the dangerous militant group.

Meanwhile, the International Committee of the Red Cross said Friday that it has sent urgently needed medical supplies to southern Somalia.
