SAN CLEMENTE, Calif. (AP) — For most of her 100 years, Minka Disbrow tried to find out what became of the precious baby girl she gave up for adoption after being raped as a teen.
On a summer day in 2006, she got her wish.
Disbrow's then 77-year-old biological daughter Ruth Lee tracked her down to learn more about her family's medical history after she suffered from heart problems.
Surprised to find her after so many years, Lee and her son Brian Lee traveled to Southern California to see Disbrow. The families have stayed in touch ever since.
Disbrow says it was like they had never parted.
