4 Dead After Standoff In Hocking County, Ohio

LOGAN, Ohio (AP) — A Kentucky man says his brother, stressed over caring for his terminally ill wife, has killed her two sisters, his son and himself.

The Hocking County Sheriff's department was called to a house about 5 miles north of Logan at about 5:30 p.m. Monday for a possible hostage situation. Deputies stormed the house at about 9 p.m.

According to The Columbus Dispatch newspaper ( ) the Kentucky man says his 63-year-old brother was the shooter. The man says his brother killed his son, two sisters-in-law and himself.

The newspaper says the wife's son from another marriage escaped from the house. It did not say what happened to the wife.

The Kentucky man says his brother was under pressure from caring for his wife, who has cancer.

Logan is about 50 miles southeast of Columbus.
