ISLAMABAD (AP) — A Pakistani security official say the country's top military and civilian leaders are set to meet Saturday in a closed-door session to discuss proposed new rules for coordinating with the United States and NATO.

The meeting could also provide an opportunity for reconciliation between civilian and military officials after a week of escalating tensions and rumors of a coup on the horizon. The official said both the army chief and the prime minister are expected to attend.

A Defense Ministry official confirmed the meeting. Both spoke anonymously because of the sensitivity of the issue.
