CARACAS, Venezuela (AP) — Venezuela's top diplomat says that exiles with links to terrorism have threatened the South American country's consulate officials in Miami.

Nicolas Maduro has not singled out any specific group or provided details of his claims, which come shortly after President Hugo Chavez said his government would close the consulate in response Washington's expulsion of a diplomat.

Venezuela's consul general in Miami was ordered out of the United States last weekend followed an FBI investigation into allegations that she discussed a possible cyber-attack on the U.S. government.

Chavez denies it.

Maduro's claims were published by the state-run news agency on Sunday.
