CHICAGO (AP) — Chicago police are questioning six teens in the beating of a 17-year-old boy that was captured on video and posted online.
Police say the attack happened Sunday afternoon in Bridgeport, a South Side neighborhood.
The video posted on YouTube shows hooded assailants repeatedly kicking and striking the victim. At least one attacker is wearing a face mask.
Police say they robbed the teenager of a pair of gym shoes, his wallet and cash. The victim was treated for a laceration to his lip, bruising and abrasions.
Chicago police say it doesn't appear the attack was racially motivated.
No charges have been filed.
Last year, an online video of a teenager punching a homeless man at a Chicago train station got about a quarter of a million views within two days.
