Hikers Find Human Head In LA's Hollywood Hills
January 18, 2012 9:18AM (UTC)
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Los Angeles police say hikers in the Hollywood Hills found a human head in a plastic bag when two of their dogs began playing with the object.
Officer Karen Rayner says two women made the discovery in an area popular for hiking at about 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
Rayner says the head appears to be male and didn't appear to have been in the area for long. She says no other body parts or blood was found nearby.
The women, who work as dog walkers, had about nine dogs with them at the time.
Police have suspended their search for more clues in the area until daylight on Wednesday.
