DALLAS (AP) — AT&T Inc. said Monday it is reshuffling the responsibilities of four executives in an effort to sharpen the telecommunication company's focus.
The changes will put John Stankey, previously the head of AT&T's business solutions division, into the newly created position of chief strategy officer. Stankey, 48, is credited for helping to expand AT&T's high-speed wireless network.
With Stankey moving into a new job, Andy Geisse will take over as senior executive vice president of AT&T's business and home solutions. Geisse, 55, will oversee the company's small business services, as well as AT&T's video, Internet access and landline products.
That shift means Ralph de la Vega, the head of AT&T mobility since 2008, will no longer oversee the company's consumer markets. De la Vega, 59, will remain AT&T mobility's top executive.
AT&T's chief technology officer, John Donovan, has had his duties expanded. Donovan, 51, is now senior executive vice president of technology and network operations.
All four men will report to AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson, 51, who has been running the company since June 2007.
