REGROUPING: European Union nations must increasingly pool their military resources, as individual members trim their budgets and the U.S reshapes its military strategy, the bloc's top defense officials said.
BIG TAB: The EU's 27 governments spend $265 billion on defense annually — more than any other nation except the U.S. Military spending has shrunk 15 percent in the past decade and is set to drop further.
NEW VIEW: The U.S. military in the future WILL concentrate on Asian security risks such as China and North Korea, and build on Mideast partnerships to keep an eye on Iran. Two of America's four combat brigades based in Europe will leave.
