MANILA, Philippines (AP) — Philippine authorities say gunmen have abducted a Dutch and a Swiss tourist and their Filipino guide in the restive southern region.

Military spokesman Lt. Col. Randolph Cabangbang says the tourists and the guide were snatched Wednesday by an armed group in the country's southernmost Tawi-Tawi island province and dragged to a waiting boat that took them away.

The Dutch Embassy in Manila has confirmed the kidnapping and says it is working on the case.
