2 Dead, 2 Hurt In Small-plane Crash In Ariz.

SHOW LOW, Ariz. (AP) — The Federal Aviation Administration says two people are dead and two others have critical injuries after a small-plane crash in Show Low, Ariz.

FAA spokesman Allen Kenitzer says the single-engine Cessna crashed after takeoff from the local airport at about 6:30 a.m. Saturday.

Local officials told the FAA that two of the four people on board survived.

Show Low Police Chief Jeffrey Smythe tells the Arizona Republic that a male and female died and another male and female had critical injuries. The plane was headed to Las Vegas.

Smythe didn't immediately return messages from The Associated Press.

The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the crash.
