NEW YORK (AP) — A son of the New York Police Department's commissioner says he's thankful an investigation into a woman's rape claim against him has established he's innocent.

Prosecutors say television anchor Greg Kelly won't face charges in connection to the rape accusation. Kelly is the son of NYPD Commissioner Raymond Kelly. He denies any wrongdoing.

A spokeswoman for the Manhattan district attorney's office said Tuesday the office had sent a letter to Greg Kelly's lawyer notifying him it wouldn't be filing charges. The spokeswoman says the investigation concluded the "established facts do not constitute a crime."

Kelly's accuser told police last month she met him for drinks in October and he assaulted her.

Kelly has released a statement thanking his supporters.
