SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — The highly publicized offensive against California's medical marijuana industry federal prosecutors launched four-and-a-half months ago has reverberated unevenly throughout the state.

It has resulted in a near-total shutdown of storefront pot dispensaries in San Diego, Lake Forest in Orange County, Sacramento County and some other jurisdictions that either welcomed the intervention or accepted it.

But it also has upset officials in pot-friendly places like Mendocino County who thought they had found the right formula for facilitating legal use.
