AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) — An arrest warrant says a Maine man owed $3,000 to the Florida firefighter he is accused of killing.
Twenty-four-year-old Daniel Porter is scheduled to face a murder charge in court Thursday in Belfast, Maine.
Seminole County firefighter Jerry Perdomo disappeared in Maine on Feb. 16. A woman described as his girlfriend told Bangor police that she last saw him with a handgun and that he told her was going to meet someone who owed him money.
Documents say Porter told police Perdomo threatened him and his family during a game of pool. They say Porter told police Perdomo was dead but would not say where his body was.
Maine State Police found a body in Newburgh on Wednesday but have not confirmed whose it is.
