Magnitude-6.1 Quake Shakes Argentina

BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (AP) — A magnitude-6.1 earthquake has shaken Argentina, but there are no reports of damage or injury.

The U.S. Geological Survey says quake at 4:46 a.m. (2:46 a.m. EST; 0746 GMT) Monday was centered about 69 miles (112 kilometers) east-southeast of the city of Santiago del Estero. But it was very deep: 342 miles (550 kilometers) below the earth's surface.
