OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Authorities say a man involved in a shootout with sheriff's deputies outside a Tulsa courthouse is the brother of a murder suspect who was shot to death by police officers six years ago.

Police spokesman Jason Willingham confirmed Thursday that Andrew Dennehy's brother was Brian Dennehy, who was shot and killed after he fired at an officer in 2005 at a Tulsa apartment complex. Police had said Brian Dennehy was suspected in the beating death of his grandfather.

Investigators haven't determined why Andrew Dennehy allegedly fired a handgun in the air and was then wounded in the shootout on Wednesday in a crowded plaza outside Tulsa County District Court. Dennehy, a deputy and a bystander were wounded.

Police identified the deputy as David Fortenberry and the bystander as Ricardo Manuel.
