OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) — Oakland's police chief now says a different female administrator was the intended target of a gunman who killed six students and an employee at a Christian college.

Police Chief Howard Jordan initially said Wednesday that Ellen Cervellon, director at the nursing program at Oikos University, was an apparent target of her former student One Goh before he opened fire on students in classrooms on Monday.

But Jordan said late Wednesday that another unidentified female administrator was the target. He declined to reveal what led to that conclusion or who the alleged target was, saying she fears for her safety.

The 43-year-old Goh was charged Wednesday with seven counts of murder and three counts of attempted murder, plus a special circumstance allegation of committing multiple murders that could make him eligible for the death penalty.
