PHILADELPHIA (AP) — The Franklin Institute is known for its heart. Soon, it'll be known for its brain, too.

The downtown Philadelphia science museum has broken ground this week on a large expansion that will include an exhibit featuring a giant walk-through brain. The 188-year-old museum's walk-through heart is one of its oldest and most beloved exhibits.

The "Your Brain" exhibit will be one part of an ambitious 53,000-square-foot expansion plan scheduled to open in 2014.

The expansion will also add a conference center, classroom space and new galleries for traveling exhibits.
