DETROIT (AP) — A Michigan prosecutor says her office is charging five men with murder and torture in the fatal shootings of two Hamtramck women.

Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy announced the charges during a news conference Saturday.

Witnesses say roommates Abreeya Brown and Ashley Conaway were forced into a car trunk at gunpoint in late February. Their bodies were discovered last month in shallow graves in Detroit.

Worthy says she's charging 26-year-old Brandon Cain, 24-year-old Miguel Rodriguez, 24-year-old Reginald Brown, 19-year-old Jeremy Brown and 25-year-old Brian Lee with first-degree murder, torture and unlawful imprisonment.

Messages seeking comment were left Saturday by The Associated Press for attorney Wright Blake, who represents Cain, and Arnold Reed, who is Lee's lawyer.

It wasn't immediately known if Rodriguez, Reginald Brown and Jeremy Brown have attorneys.
