Avon CEOs: A look at the resumes of Jung, McCoy

Avon Products Inc. said Monday that long-time Johnson & Johnson executive Sheri McCoy will replace Andrea Jung as CEO as later this month. Here's a look at the careers of the two women:

SHERI S. MCCOY

— Began her career at Johnson & Johnson in 1982 as a scientist in the research and development organization supporting the consumer women's health business.

—Advanced up the ladder and served as head of consumer research and development and later as global president of the baby and wound care consumer franchises.

— In 2005, ecame company group chairman for the Ethicon device franchise and a member of the medical device and diagnostics group operating committee and assumed responsibility for the group's businesses in Latin America.

— Three years later, was named chair of the surgical care group and became a member of the Johnson & Johnson executive committee.

—In 2009 became worldwide chair of pharmaceuticals.

—In 2011 assumed responsibility for the pharmaceutical and consumer business segments. She was also named vice chair of the executive committee and member of the Office of the Chairman .

— Has a bachelor's degree from the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth; a master's degree in chemical engineering from Princeton University; and a master's in business administration from Rutgers University.

ANDREA YUNG

— Joined Avon in January 1994 as president of the product marketing group.

— From 1996 to 1998, ascended to senior positions in product marketing, where she oversaw research and development, market research, strategic planning, joint ventures and alliances.

— In 1998, was president and chief operating officer for Avon's business units worldwide.

— Was appointed CEO in 1999 and elected chairman in 2001.

— Has been a member of the board of directors since January 1998.

— Graduate of Princeton University.
