“The Daily Show” correspondent and Salon writer Aasif Mandvi spoke with CNN’s Suzanne Malveaux today to discuss his story on the perils of Hollywood whitewashing — the casting of white actors to play roles originally written as non-white characters. “America is not the same as it was 50 years ago,” he said, arguing that Hollywood shouldn’t rely on a solely white rotation of leading men and women.
