The Mets hurler reached a career milestone and said he's not a self-made man

Last night, R.A. Dickey, a knuckleballer, writer, mountain climber and renaissance man who has even contributed to Salon, became the first Met to win 20 games in a season since 1990. In an interview at Citifield, Dickey capped off the milestone with an unusually political statement for a professional athlete these days, "I am by no way a self-made man."
