ABC pulls "Apartment 23" effective immediately

The comedy was in the middle of its second season

"Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23," ABC's improbable comedy about two frenemies and their sidekick, actor James van der Beek, has been pulled from the network's lineup effective immediately. Despite having eight unaired episodes, ABC will broadcast back-to-back episodes of "Happy Endings" instead. The network has not said anything, yet, on the future of the show or when the remaining episodes will air.

Actor James van der Beek, who plays a fictionalized version of himself on the show, was upset by the news but told fans not to blame the network:
