With the spotlight on her thanks to her ongoing stint on "American Idol," Mariah Carey has released what looks like a comeback single -- everything from the featured artist, R&B sensation Miguel, to the hashtagged title, "#Beautiful" (that's not a typo).

Perhaps the very now-ness of it can reboot a career that in recent years hasn't hit the mid-1990s peaks: 2009's ballad-heavy "Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel" disappointed, a follow-up album called "Angels Advocate" was cancelled. This time next year, Carey may not need "Idol" to have a platform.
