US determines Syria crossed "red line"

Obama administration concludes Syrian regime used chemical weapons; hasn't decided how it will respond

WASHINGTON -- U.S. officials say the Obama administration has concluded that Syrian President Bashar Assad's regime has used chemical weapons against the opposition seeking to overthrow him, crossing what President Barack Obama called a 'red line'.

However, the officials said the administration has not determined how it will respond.
