Chris Christie isn't on-board with Congressional Republicans' plan to threaten a government shutdown, according to a report from the Huffington Post.

The popular Republican governor of heavily Democratic New Jersey said in an interview to air on CBS this weekend that a government shutdown "by definition, is a failure."

"Quite frankly, to be fair, I don't think you hear responsible Republican leaders advocating a shutdown of the government," said Christie, before adding, "You gotta work it out. [Congress will] work it out this weekend, I'm confident they will, because I don't think anybody wants to go down that road."
