With its latest cover, a paywalled look at Chris Christie's 2016 hopes, Time magazine opted to forgo the high road and run with a fat joke instead.
"The Elephant in the Room," Time blares, making a thinly veiled reference to Christie's girth, his being a Republican, and the fact that his landslide reelection victory has some Tea Party Republicans feeling uneasy about the GOP's future.
The New Jersey governor, who recently underwent weight loss surgery, has long had a well-known struggle with his weight, but is said to be losing the pounds slowly but steadily.
