People freaked when Google Talk, Hangouts and more were down for hours today, because yes, we are this reliant

Remember on Jan. 24 when Gmail was down for a full 18 minutes? Well today may have been worse in the eyes of the Internet -- although less clever this time around. Google Talk (what most everyone refers to as gchat), Google Hangouts, and Google Sheets were all down intermittently for several hours today. Chat services returned to some users after 2:15 p.m. EST, and Google Sheets returned at around 2:44 p.m.

Obviously, annoyed Google users turned to Twitter to voice their outrage. Here were some of the best tweets:

Even Google made an "Office Space" joke about the service being down:

Still unsure why it went down, but Google has this helpful chart that shows when, and for how long the services were inactive.
