America, meet Jake Rush, a Tea Party vampire running for Congress in Florida

Stephen Colbert interviews a lawyer and LARPer who goes by “Chazz Darling" and “Staas van der Winst"

Stephen Colbert is intrigued by Jake Rush, a "staunch conservative, a free-market capitalist, small government, walk softly and carry a big stick kind of guy," who also spends part of his time pretending to be a vampire. Lawyer by day, live-action role player by (presumably) night, the "small government conservative" goes by “Chazz Darling" and “Staas van der Winst" in his off-time.

On Thursday night, Colbert interviewed Rush on the "Colbert Report," interrogating him over his "thesbian" lifestyle, the Jake Rush fan fiction Colbert is planning to write about him, and Rush's racist gun tolerance. Though Colbert mocks the lawyer, Rush handles it well: the humorous interview might just be the leg up that Rush needs to beat Rep. Ted Yoho (R-Fl) in the state's third district primaries.
