Back in January, Zach Hill, drummer in the experimental hip-hop group Death Grips, which also includes rapper Stefan Burnett and producer Andy Morin, wrote on Facebook that they were "starting to record the new Death Grips album right now."

And late last night, Death Grips surprised the music world by dropping the first half of that double LP, titled "the powers that b."

The first half is named "niggas on the moon," and it consists of eight new tracks. All of the tracks are free to download, and all of the tracks feature Björk.

Björk confirmed on her own Facebook that she contributed to the record, saying:

i am proud to announce my vocals landed on the new death grips album ! i adore death grips and i am thrilled to be their "found object" ! i have been lucky enough to hang and exchange music loves w/ them and witness them grow !! epic : onwards !!

The second half will be called "jenny death," and there is no word yet when that will be released. Listen to the Death Grips album below:
