The Pumpkin Spice Latte is debuting in August, because Starbucks has absolutely no respect for seasons

The season favorite is returning to menus earlier than ever

Last evening, a friend on Instagram shared a photo of orange leaves gracefully littering an outdoor staircase. It was captioned, appropriately, "This is bullsh*t."

I second the sentiment. And as if this fleeting summer weren't already ending too soon, Starbucks had to go ahead and announce, via Twitter, that it's ready to reintroduce its seasonal Pumpkin Spice Latte on Aug. 25 -- a full month before the official start of autumn. Some branches, apparently, are already serving them.

The pumpkin-free fall fantasy, for its part, couldn't be any more obnoxious about its premature debut:

We already have to deal with climate change messing with the seasons -- does Starbucks really need to make things even more confusing?
