Ira Glass clarifies his "Shakespeare sucks" tweet: I don't "connect" with Shakespeare

The "This American Life" host visited "The Tonight Show" and expounded on his ill-conceived comment

"This American Life" host Ira Glass is still answering for his controversial "Shakespeare sucks" tweet. On Wednesday night, he attempted to add some nuance to his simplistic dismissal of the most influential writer of the Western world: that it's hard to "emotionally connect" with Shakespeare.

Regardless, the Twitter world seems to be tolerating Glass these days. He's got Molly Ringwald's endorsement, anyway.
