Three months after host David Gregory's unceremonious departure from NBC's "Meet the Press," his successor Chuck Todd still doesn't feel comfortable talking about it.

During a Tuesday appearance on HuffPost Live, host Marc Lamont Hill asked Todd about his relationship with Gregory.

"You know, this is a rough business. I'll leave it at that," Todd responded, with more than a hint of unease.

Hill asked whether Todd and Gregory's interactions were awkward -- which made things only more uncomfortable.

"About as awkward as being asked questions about him," Todd said.

Gregory assumed the anchor's chair at "Meet the Press" in 2008, shortly after the death of longtime host Tim Russert. Todd, who had long coveted the job, had been a finalist for the position, and whispers about a Todd-Gregory rivalry have persisted for years. Todd took over as host in September.
