The Internet can work in totally un-mysterious ways, at times. Thursday afternoon, a grim b&w image of the Teletubbies was passed around the Internet via Reddit. And, by morning, that image — noted by many as being “Joy Division-esque” — had already become a Joy Division music video set to the frolicking nature scenes of “Teletubbies.”
See for yourself, but this video works surprisingly well. Even weirder: The aesthetic of the video, as many have already pointed out, looks a ton like Joy Division’s 1980 music video “Atmosphere.” Watch the bizarre convergence of teen angst and childhood naivety below:
