How the Dow Jones industrial average fared Thursday

Stocks logged their biggest drop in two weeks on Thursday as investors reacted to some disappointing corporate earnings results. Harman International, which makes audio systems for cars, and Yelp, an online listings company, were among the companies that fell sharply after posting weak earnings.

On Thursday:

The Dow Jones industrial average fell 195.01 points, or 1.1 percent, to close at 17,840.52.

The Standard & Poor's 500 index dropped 21.34 points, or 1 percent, to 2,085.51.

The Nasdaq declined 82.22 points, or 1.6 percent, to 4,941.42.

For the week:

The Dow is down 239.62 points, or 1.3 percent.

The S&P 500 is down 32.27 points, or 1.5 percent.

The Nasdaq is down 150.66 points, or 3 percent.

For the year:

The Dow is up 17.45 points, or 0.1 percent.

The S&P 500 index is up 26.61 points, or 1.3 percent.

The Nasdaq is up 205.37 points, or 4.3 percent.
