Mayim Bialik, neuroscientist, "The Big Bang Theory" star, cat owner and general cause-haver, has teamed up with PetSmart Charities in an attempt to promote cat adoption and dispel negative stereotypes associated with cat ownership. To participate, take a picture with your cat and tag it #meowOUT.
"I think it's important to realize that a lot of those stereotypes about what cats are like and what cat people are like are not legitimate," said Bialik in an interview with the Huffington Post. "It's especially important, as a science-y person and a person who cares abut the environment and the animals in it, to realize that cats are out there waiting to be adopted."
As part of the campaign, Bialik will pick her five favorite pictures, which will be featured in PetSmart Charities promotional materials - a coveted prize!
