Bobby Jindal made the big announcement we've all been waiting for today in a hidden-camera style video posted to Facebook.

With a message that reads, "I had to tell a few people first. But I want you to be next. I’m running for President of the United States of America," the Louisiana governor released a creepy home video of his family sitting at what appears to be their backyard table. Jindal and his wife announce to their kids, ages 8-13, that they have a surprise announcement before revealing, “we have decided we are going to be running for president this year.”

The camera, seemingly mounted atop a tree, gazes down on the reaction-less kids, who don't seem to be mic'd. Jindal soon warns the children that they cannot reveal this secret to their friends at soccer. One of Jindal's sons mentions in the video that he and his sister had already caught on to their father's intentions.

The entire video is less than two minutes long.

In a tease video posted to Jindal's Facebook page before the anti-climatic announcement video, Jindal describes a speech where he actually announces his intention to not run for president.

"It'd be a short speech," he said. "You'd get up there and say, 'Thank you all for coming, I just want to tell you that I've decided not to run. Have a good night.'"

We now know America will have no such luck.

Jindal goes on to tell his children that his impending announcement will draw media attention: "You know, there are going to be people watching you, so you have to behave," he said. "No bunny ears behind your brother or anything."

Jindal's entry brings the GOP primary field to 13 candidates. He's currently polling at around one percent nationally.
