COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — A Florida teenager has died after falling from a high ropes course at a camp in South Carolina.

Pickens County Deputy Coroner Gary Duncan says 16-year-old Olivia Paige Grimes of Lakeland, Florida, died Monday afternoon after falling out of a ropes course swing at Carolina Point Camp in Sunset.

The camp is run by Young Life, a Christian youth organization. Kelly says Grimes died at the scene just before 6 p.m. Her body has been sent to a hospital for an autopsy.

Officials say the death was accidental. Sheriff's deputies are investigating.

In a statement posted online, camp officials say they don't yet know what happened. They say they place the safety of campers and guests as a top priority.
