In an interview last night with CNN’s Erin Burnett, Donald Trump seized the opportunity to take a few more jabs at Ben Carson, currently his closest competitor in the GOP primary.

Carson’s autobiography, “Gifted Hands,” has faced increasing scrutiny recently as he’s begun climbing the polls. A particularly contentious section of Carson's book details his trying to attack his mother with a hammer before his brother, Curtis, intervened.

In the fourth GOP debate earlier this week, Carson again attacked the media, saying, “I don’t like being lied about.” Last night, Burnett asked Trump whether or not he thought Carson is being truthful.

“When he says that he went after his mother and wanted to hit her in the head with a hammer,” Trump said, “that bothers me.”

Trump went on to liken the incurability of Carson’s rumored “pathological disease” to that of a child molester.

“You don’t cure a child molester,” Trump said. “There’s no cure for it.”
