"They're either a d*ck or Professor Ted Cruz": Seth Meyers unpacks the South Carolina spin

"Media's talking about Trump's win the way the reporters in the movie 'Armageddon' were talking about the asteroid"

"Late Night" host Seth Meyers took a "Closer Look" last night at Donald Trump's sweeping victory in South Carolina Saturday.

"The media is talking about Trump's win the way the reporters in the movie 'Armageddon' were talking about the asteroid," Meyers said of the post-South Carolina coverage, which saw many pundits questioning if and/or how Trump can be stopped.

Despite winning zero delegates in the state, Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz--the GOP's last hopes for stopping Trump--still "acted like they won." Cruz, for example, began his concession (or was it victory?) speech in South Carolina by saying, "Once again, we have made history."

"Ted Cruz, you did not make history," Meyers responded. "In 20 years, if a history teacher asks who finished third in the 2016 South Carolina primary, they're either a dick or Professor Ted Cruz."

On Trump repeatedly contradicting himself--on WMDs in Iraq and the Gulf War--in the week lead-up to the primary, Meyers said, "His hair looks like cotton candy because he's constantly spinning."
