"It's all sanctimonious bullsh*t": Trevor Noah unloads on GOP's Supreme Court obstructionism

"The Daily Show" gets it, until Trevor Noah strikes an embarrassing, dumb note of false equivalence

"Daily Show" host Trevor Noah last night weighed in on the partisan debate surrounding an inevitable Obama nomination of a replacement to fill Scalia's vacant seat in the Supreme Court, and Senate Republicans' promise that they won't even consider an Obama nominee.

"This president is not a lame duck," Noah said in response to Ted Cruz's mischaracterization of Obama as such. "He's a perfect duck."

"These Republican senators are total BS," Noah added before playing multiple clips of the same lawmakers arguing against themselves in defense of President George W. Bush's 2006 nomination of Chief Justice Samuel Alito. "You've shown that this is not about the Constitution, but, rather, just about getting what you want for your party."

"You love giving speeches and making ads about America's greatest document -- how no one loves the constitution more than you -- but it's all sanctimonious bullshit," Noah said, but a mic drop goes awry when it's revealed to him that then-Senator Barack Obama voted to filibuster Justice Alito's confirmation. "Thanks for nothing, Democrats."
