Larry Wilmore's brilliant #TamponTuesday bit: "This issue may seem trivial to people who have money or a penis or a money penis"

"Are schools worried that giving out free tampons is just gonna encourage kids to menstruate?"

"Nightly Show" host Larry Wilmore celebrated #TamponTuesday with an examination of the luxury goods tax whereby Rogaine and condoms -- used only be men -- are tax-exempt and tampons are classified as a "luxury."

"Is that surprising to anyone that in a country founded by men, run by men, the tax code doesn't protect women's necessities, but it does protect men trying to grow a hairier dong and wrapping that newly-haired dong in Latex?" Wilmore said.

"This issue may seem trivial to people who have money or a penis or a money penis," he continued. "Just imagine how you'd feel if you had to pay extra just for something your body does naturally. Like, if you had to pay a buck per fart."

Wilmore noted one public high school in Queens that's installed free tampon dispensaries as of part a new initiative to make the hygiene product more economically available.

"This is great news, but why don't all public schools offer free tampons for their students?" he said. "Are schools worried that giving out free tampons is just gonna encourage kids to menstruate?"

"Abstinence-only education is definitely not going to work in this situation," he added.
