"The Cruz family ... offed more people in the '60s and '70s than Vietnam": Larry Wilmore links "Zodiac killer" and "JFK conspirator"

"Nightly Show" host Larry Wilmore last night joined the ranks of prominent late-night hosts who tape earlier in the day and thus wasted segments on Ted Cruz.

But instead of, say, assessing Cruz's chances in Indiana -- where he would inevitably lose and announce the end of his campaign -- Wilmore instead focused on Donald Trump's peddling of a theory from the National Enquirer that "reported" Cruz's father, Rafael, was photographed with Lee Harvey Oswald prior to the latter's shooting.

One can only pray Trump's latest attack had nothing to do with Cruz's Indiana loss, but with the GOP base that's electing Trump outright, it's hard to tell.

"Nobody talks about it because it's not news," Wilmore told Trump, who, in a phone-in interview with Fox & Friends, whined about a media blackout on the issue. "Or is it?"

"Between this and all of Ted Cruz's Zodiac killing, the Cruz family ... offed more people in the '60s and '70s than Vietnam," he added.
