Bill Maher smacks down sore losers: Sanders voters can't say it's "fair when you win and rigged when you lose"

Maher praises Sanders for revealing "how much of this country is left-wing," but says Hillary won "fair and square"

"Real Time" host Bill Maher, with panelist and Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello, took a moment during last night's episode to appreciate the historic run of Senator Bernie Sanders.

"I don't think it matters when he gets out," Maher said. "He revealed how much of this country really is left-wing. We didn't know that before this campaign. That is huge and historic."

"People complain that Bernie in his speech the other night didn't ... mention the historic moment of Hillary Clinton being the nominee," added Morello. "Hillary Clinton did not mention the historic moment of a socialist in the United States of America winning twenty-two states."

Maher reminded Sanders voters that Clinton did win "fair and square."

"It can't be the case ... where it's fair when you win and rigged when you lose," he added. "It's often seen that when someone has big crowds, that that means something ... [but] it's who shows up in the voting booth."
